Wave power

We British talk about the weather.  It is a national pastime.  The last few weeks’  weather has certainly given us something to talk about –  storms, high tides, power cuts, railway lines washed away, lightning strikes and it isn’t over yet.

I do not wish to be flippant.  One of the petitions on my prayer list is “people affected by floods”.  However, when I sat down to write a verse about the recent events, this is what came out:-

Wave power

Need a JCB?
Hire the Irish Sea!
Holes dug, moved earth,
bridges shifted, banks worth
nought.
Just a thought!

Other bloggers have perhaps done better.  http://beeseeker.wordpress.com/2013/12/28/mischief-and-silver/

Today’s daily prompt allows us to

Write about anything you’d like, but make sure that all seven colors of the rainbow — red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, violet — make an appearance in the post, either through word of image.

Photographers, artists, poets: show us COLORS.

The mnemonic I know for the colours of the rainbow, which do not include silver gold or black is with the indicated variations.

Richard Of York Gained/Gave Battle(s) In Vain.

And the kind editors of the Daily post (Michelle W. in particular) have already listed the colours in the prompt.  Rainbows have been a pleasant change from dark skies here over this stormy spell.

And to readers in the frozen parts of the US and Canada I, for one, have not entirely forgotten you!
