Once again I have picked a theme for the A to Z Challenge. This time I aim to entertain rather than to educate. My theme is careers or occupations. I begin with a piece of creative writing.

Ian and Iris are illustrators. From the time they could hold a crayon they drew pictures. At school they adorned their exercise books with doodles. Art school was an obvious route to their chosen profession. One day they hope to be as well known as Quentin Blake and EH Shepard, for example. Meanwhile they enjoy reading books and imagining the scenes, before setting to work creating them on paper or even on computer.

Illustration has been used from ancient times. In the temple built in the rule of King Solomon an artist named Huram engraved pictures. 1 Kings 7:36
