E is for equilateral #AtoZChallenge

For the A to Z in April Challenge 2019 I have picked some words, which are connected with physical space.

E is for equilateral
Meaning equal length
And also for even – a numeral
With double strength.

Equilateral triangles have three sides of equal length and three equal internal angles (60 degrees). In my previous post I mentioned polygons. Polygons with equal sides are described as regular.

Even numbers feature in a popular chant at sports events:

Two, four, six, eight,
Who do we appreciate?

followed by spelling out the name of a team and then shouting its name.

Words fascinate me. Length describes how long something is. Strength derives from strong. Width is from wide, but breadth is from broad and means more or less the same thing. I devoted a post to these sorts of words on Sue’s considered trifles.

By coincidence the derivation of words begins with E – etymology.

Triangles are often used in decorative work, particularly on floors.

Because Christians believe in a triune God, triangles are sometimes used to represent the Trinity – Father, Son and Holy Spirit. We say the grace: 2 Corinthians 13:14.

May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all.

The love of God is perhaps more easily understood than grace. I read and reviewed two books about grace some time ago.
