For some time I have been aware that I have been trying to do too much both on and offline. In particular I have been spending too much time using my computer. Excessive screen time is not good for anyone’s eyes!
So, what am I going to do about it?
Regarding my blogging, I intend to continue posting here on Sue’s Trifles fairly regularly. I have been attempting to review almost every book I read. I’ve also been posting a short review on Goodreads with a link to my main review. For now, I’ll list the books I’ve been reading here, but I’ll only post a review on Goodreads (with a few exceptions). Up to now I have had very few clicks from Goodreads to my reviews here.
I intend to continue joining in with various blogging challenges. I enjoy Rebecca Cuningham’s poetry challenges. She has issued her October challenge with a closing date of 29th October. My next post here may appear on Wednesday instead of Thursday, if I write a poem for Rebecca’s challenge.
Although it is only October, I have an idea for next year’s Blogging from A to Z in April Challenge. This will use a project I started several years ago just for fun. I hope it will be of interest to readers and writers.
On Sue’s words and pictures, I may be able to write some posts similar to the ones I used to prepare before the pandemic. These featured places hubby and I had visited. The photo accompanying this post is an example of the sort of pictures I post on Sue’s words and pictures. Although I have missed posting for Cee’s Fun Foto Challenge for two weeks, I’ll join in with that when I am able.
Hopefully my new schedule will free up some time for me to return to a book I have been writing for decades.
Recently I read Raising Hare by Chloe Dalton. It is a beautifully written nature book, illustrated by Denis Nestor with hand-lettering by Jamie Whyte. The subtitle is The heart-warming true story of an unlikely friendship. It was available as a digital edition from BorrowBox.
I also read Living Threads: Making the Quaker Tapestry. This was a second-hand book, which caught my eye as I had enjoyed a visit to the Quaker Tapestry in Kendal, Cumbria many years ago.
My writing news is available on my What’s New? page.
Thank you for reading.

Thanks for mentioning the poetry challenge, Sue! Look forward to reading your haibun.
