A is for arc #AtoZChallenge

For the A to Z in April Challenge 2019 I have picked some words, which are connected with physical space.

A is for arc – a curve
Long or short. With a letter more
An arch is two arcs which serve
To hold up a wall over a window or door.

An arc is part of a circle. It is not to be confused with Noah’s ark or the Ark of the Covenant, which could both be described as containers. They were physical spaces! The story of the Noah’s ark is to be found in the Bible ( Genesis 5-10)

Detailed instructions for constructing the Ark of the Covenant were received by Moses. The link goes to the beginning of the story.

Some photos of arches and an arc.

  1. The Noah story is among my favorites in the Bible. In recent months I’ve been studying a lot about Noah and the flood. Perhaps coincidence, our pastor at church did a pretty extensive sermon series about the flood over a period of several weeks. Actually he started at the beginning of Genesis a few months ago and he’s going through the whole book it seems. Last Sunday we wrapped up the Tower of Babel and then started into the story of Abram. It’s been a very interesting series.
