Bertie and Bertha were bank robbers. They thought they could make a quick buck, but they had reckoned without being caught. They didn’t expect to be behind bars with a bunk instead of being at home with a comfortable bed and everything money could buy.

But the story doesn’t end here. Bertie and Bertha began to study. The books they read include Beekeeping for beginners and the Bible. At the end of their sentence they can have a new beginning.

Lots of Bible stories are about new beginnings. Matthew 9: 1-9 is an example.

  1. Being a bank robber might be fun fantasy, but the harsh reality is that almost all of them eventually get caught and have to pay. I’d like to think that everyone in prison is striving to become better for when they are released, but sadly I think most don’t.
