I is for…

Irish pipes are a form of bagpipe.  There is also an Irish flute.  A visitor to my B post alerted me to a bouzouki used in Irish music.  Sure enough there is an Irish bouzouki, although the original version appears to be Greek.  It is a stringed instrument.

Ireland has a long tradition of folk music.

I have learned from Wikipedia that certain percussion instruments are classed as idiophones.
If you can think of any other Instruments for this letter, please leave a comment!

  1. I love folk music, and this sounds magical. Nice to read this post, as I’ve heard of Ireland’s folklore and music going way back, and I bet it tells some wonderful stories, either through words or songs.
