E is for…

A euphonium is a brass instrument.  It is most likely to be found in a brass band.

Ear drums are another kind of drum, which is not a musical instrument.  Without our ear drums, we wouldn’t hear music in the usual way.  However, Evelyn Glennie is a wonderful deaf musician, who is a spokesperson and pioneer bringing music to people who would otherwise have been considered incapable of enjoying it, let alone performing it.  Please click on the link to see and hear her.

Electric guitars are popular with pop-musicians.  They require amplifiers and all sorts of electronic wizardry.

  1. Hi Sue .. I love the sound of the word Euphonium … and Evelyn Glennie has been quite extraordinary in her musical talents – I enjoy watching her play and hearing her talk … so knowledgeable about ‘hearing and sounds’ and how we interpret them …

They’ve just let a lady of 39 hear for the first time in her life – quite incredible to see …

No sound for an electric guitar without some electrics .. seems funny doesn’t it .. cheers Hilary
