B is for…

…becoming branches brought my previous post to a conclusion.

Breath begins with B and brings us to the third person of the Trinity, the Holy Spirit.  Breath is another word for Spirit and in the original languages of the Bible the same word is used for both.

I referred obliquely to the Holy Spirit in a post on my other blog entitled Bonfire Night.

Bashful disciples were made bold by his beneficial presence.  They bravely blessed others, who believed and became brothers. Acts 2

Benediction is another word for blessing.  Bene is Latin for well and diction is speaking.

The Benedictus Luke 1:68-79 (words spoken by the father of John the Baptist as a blessing) and Benedicite, omnia opera (O all ye works of the Lord, bless ye the Lord) are two canticles or songs, which are set for the service of Morning Prayer in the Book of Common Prayer…but C comes tomorrow!
